The aim of GUMC'S curriculum is to foster social, artistic, moral, spiritual, and intellectual development in our children through their own activity and discovery (play with a purpose).  We want to guide them as they master tasks.  Our Responsive Classroom  approach creates an environment that enables students to become confident in their ability to learn as they grow to  to trust themselves as well as others.

GUMC's theme-based curriculum is developmentally appropriate and carefully planned with relevance to the child's intellectual and developmental achievements.  It is designated to nurture, expand, and extend the child's life experiences.  Our teachers will provide tools for this learning through a variety of hands-on activities and differentiated teaching strategies.  The following Early Childhood Education Learning Domains are addressed in order to prepare children for kindergarten:

Reading and Writing- Concepts about Print, Letter Knowledge, Phonemic  Awareness, Phonics, Sight Words, Writing

Language- Listening, Comprehension, Speaking, Vocabulary, Fluency

Math- Numbers, Shapes, Space, Data and Measurement

Social Studies and Science- Observation, Discovery, Inquiry

Physical-Small Motor, Large Motor, Balance, Coordination
